Dolores C. Davister, 96, Sugar Bush, died Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was born in Milwaukee to the late Robert M. and Catherine M. (Beyer) Tilkens on September 21, 1926. On June 19, 1946, she married Ardeal J. Davister at St. Mary Church, Humboldt. Following the first six-years of marriage, Dolores and Ardeal moved to Sugar Bush and began the legacy of Davister Bar. In 1967 they added the traditional broasted chicken and ribs and with the help of their seven children a thriving business was built, continuing to this day with the third generation as owners. With time Davisters Carriage Rides were orchestrated and traveled throughout the state of Wisconsin. Throughout her life, Dolores was an active member of St. Hubert Church, Humboldt, Our Lady Queen of Peace, now referred to as St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Sugar Bush. Upon retirement she enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting, crafts, and listening to Polka music. Survivors include three children and their spouses, Fred (Bonnie) Davister, Lynn (Len) Whipp, all of Sugar Bush; Sharon (Ken) Pieschek, Pine Grove; Mary Davister, Humboldt; 24 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Elroy (Gerri) Tilkens, Crivitz; Nathalie Salzsieder, Oconto; Aggie Hudson, AZ; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mick (Vicki) Davister, Green Bay; Clarence “Peanuts” Michiels, Sugar Bush; Sharon Davister, Pilsen; nieces and nephews. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 69 years Ardeal; three sons, Dale Davister, Glen Davister, Tony Davister; one daughter, Sandra (Steve) Kielpikowski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton (Geraldine) Tilkens, Lester Salzsieder, Marvin (Mary) Tilkens, LaVerne (Joe) Swille, Maxine Prevost; her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Elmer and Emma (Jauquet) Davister; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clyde Davister, Carmen (George) Paider, Glenda Michiels, Walter (Isabell) Brunner, Fay Davister. Friends may call between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, Sugar Bush. Closing parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 11, 2023, between 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. Funeral 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating. Burial in St. Hubert Cemetery, Sugar Bush.
