Elmer J. Frisque, 95, Bay Settlement, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, October 08, 2018. He was born in the Town of Red River on September 27, 1923 to the late John B. and Alvina (Vaness) Frisque. On November 17, 1943 he married Verna Mae H. VandenHouten at St. Martin Church in Tonet. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, stationed in the Philippine Islands and was a 65yr. member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post, 262 in Luxemburg. He was employed with Leibmann Packing and then Packerland Packing until retirement in 1988. He also held a part time position at the Shrine of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum, well before his retirement. One of his many caretaker responsibilies were raising of the flags for memorial celebrations, which he took great pride in. His enjoyments included watching wrestling, the Green Bay Packers, spending time maintaining his yard with pride, hunting, fishing, raising steers and ready to give a helping hand to his family. With joy he was able to be one the firsts traveling on the Honor Flight to Washington in 2012. Survivors include his wife of nearly 75 years, Verna Mae; five children, Julie (Robert) Steiner, Luxemburg; John (Rita) Frisque, Bay Settlement; Randy (Jane) Frisque, Luxemburg; Rhonda Frisque, Green Bay; Gerilyn Frisque, Green Bay; nine grandchildren, Robin (Jim) Doell, Janelle (Cory) TeKulve, Roderick “Butch” (Tracy) Steiner, Lisa (Doug) Blake, Brian (special friend, Betsy) Frisque, Shelly Frisque, Rachelle (Rick) Karman, Rachael (John) Bray, Madilyn DuBois; 12 great-grandchildren, Kurtis, Shawn, Carynn, Cienna, Jayde, Megan, Bryce, Alex, Aaron, Tanner, Austin, Brianna; two sisters, Germaine Zellner, Walhain; Iris Pinchart, Green Bay; one sister in law, Bertha Delveaux, Luxemburg; nieces and nephews. Elmer was preceded in death by, one grandson, Lucas J. Frisque; two brothers, Carrel (Renie) Frisque, Marvin (Jean) Frisque; one sister and four brothers in law, Beatrice (Linus) Hermans, Clarence Zellner, Elmer Delveaux, Bernard (Janice Haucke) VandenHouten. Friends may call 9:30 to 10:45 am at Holy Cross Church, Bay Settlement on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Funeral 11:00 am on Thursday at the church with Rev. David McElroy officiating.
