PLEASE NOTE SCHEDULE CHANGE!!! The Lord wrapped his arms around another angel and accompanied her to the gates of Heaven. Ethelreda M. Servais 90, of Champion passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband of 67 years and her beautiful family on Saturday evening November 13, 2021. She was born on May 17, 1931, in Champion to the late John J. Ropson and Ida M. (Derenne) Ropson. Ethelreda and Francis were united in marriage on June 19, 1954, at St. Joseph Church in Champion. Ethelreda resided in Champion, WI where she grew up in Ropson’s General Merchandise Store. She attended St. Joseph Academy and then went on to Door Kewaunee Normal school where she received a certificate in teaching. Following her teaching career, she traveled with Francis as a military wife. When they returned home Francis and Ethelreda established their Homestead and Dairy Farm where they farmed for 41 years while raising seven children. Faith was especially important and it guided Ethelreda throughout her entire life. She was especially proud of receiving her sacraments at St. Joseph Church in Champion. Her involvement with the church included St. Ann’s Society, Social Committee, Annual Church Picnic, and Quilting Group. She was very devoted to the rosary and continually prayed for others at the Chapel, Mom was blessed with the special friendships she made as being a lifelong member of the Homemakers Club. She was proud to work for the Town of Green Bay as an Election Worker and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 262. Spending time with family was important. Holidays, Birthdays and special occasions were enjoyed at their family home and cottage on the bay. The cottage was a second home for mom, spending every Sunday during the summer there from sunrise to sunset. She was an exceptional cook and baker, and no one ever went away hungry. Her interest and hobbies included watching and feeding the birds, building puzzles, playing cards and of course, her favorite game Sequence. Mom was an avid sports fan, following the Packers, Bucks and Brewers. Together mom and dad enjoyed being members of the Nifty Fifty’s Car Club and snowmobile club. Most important was family: Survivors include her husband Francis and their seven children, Randy (Marion) Servais of New Franken; Shari Vogel of Kiel; Ken (Anne) Servais of New Franken; Mike (Kim Anders) Servais, Green Bay; Nancy (Kevin) Zellner of New Franken; Joan (Cary) Dequaine of New Franken; Ann (Bill) Freeman of New Franken; grandchildren: Nathan (Lisa), Brad, Jason, Sarah (Max), Brett (Carli), Lance (Skye), Ryan (Shannon), Nick (Morgan), Josh (Melissa), Nathan, Alycia (Mike), Beth, Emily (Dustin), Rebecca (Micah); great grandchildren: Kaia, Ashton, Adler, William, Zachary, Jackson, Brooklyn, Hudson, Weston, Jayden, Nathan; one sister, Angie (Marv) Deterville; brothers in law and sisters-in-law: Carol Ropson, Norris (Agnes) Servais, Joyce Jandrain ,Alden (Marie) Servais, Claire (Marv) Dax, Carol (Roger) Miller: nieces and nephews. Ethelreda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Ropson, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Isaac and Virginia Servais, brother, Ardin Ropson; brothers in law and sister-in-law: Ardele Cordry, Joseph Servais, Ken Jandrain, Ron Cartier. Friends may call 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at St. Joseph Church, Champion. Closing parish prayer service 6:00 pm with Deacon Bob Miller. The funeral at 11:00 am on Wednesday WILL NOW BE PRIVATE with Rev. Carlo Villaluz and Rev. Thomas Farrell officiating. Entombment at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.
