Garnet Meta-Edna (Kudick) Dahlke, 92 years of age, fell asleep in Jesus on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Odd Fellows Nursing Home. She was born on December 29, 1931, on the Kudick family farm to the late Gustav H. and Irene M. (Habeck) Kudick. Garnet was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montpelier where she was baptized and confirmed. On June 11, 1949, she married Marvin H. Dahlke. They celebrated 73 years of marriage in 2022, Marvin passed April 18, 2023. This long union was blessed with five children, nineteen grandchildren, and forty-six great grandchildren. Garnet was a marvelous homemaker and enjoyed baking, gardening and crocheting. She created many beautiful baby afghans and intricate doilies. She, along with Marvin, were school janitors for many years at St. Paul, and were members of the church choir. Survivors include her five children, Linda (Bob) Ullman, Denmark; Karen (Fred) Belter, Robert “Bob” (Linda) Dahlke, Lyle Dahlke, all of Luxemburg; Keith (Jean) Dahlke, Kewaunee; one sister, Caroline Everson, one brother and two sisters in law, Karl (Jeanette) Kudick, Judy Kudick; Marvin’s siblings, Mildred (Myron) Drab, Jean Zeitler, Dorothy (Donald) Pribek. Garnet was preceded in death by her husband Marvin, her parents, three brothers Vernand (Julia) Kudick, Melvin (Betty) Kudick, Gordon Kudick; two sisters and four brothers in law, Melva (Milton) Fager, Marion (Rueben) Raduenz, Ed Everson, Martin Zeitler. Friends may call between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Funeral service 11:00 am on Wednesday with Rev. Dr. Daniel Olson officiating. Burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Montpelier.
