Grace C Reedy

November 22, 1934 — July 20, 2023

Grace C. Reedy, 88, Denmark, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born in Luxemburg on November 22, 1934, to the late Frank J. and Anna (Edelbeck) Kozlik. On September 7, 1955, Grace married Glenn R. Reedy at St. Joseph Church in Pilsen. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1993. Grace was a very social person and liked going to dinner and a musical. She would frequent the Senior Center weekly to share Bingo and meals with friends. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxillary Unit 6705 in Demark and was an instrumental member at all meetings. Shopping was a social event for Grace, often taking hours to finish her task as she stopped to visit with many people along the way. She held an amazing memory and would recall how anyone in town was related and what they were celebrating in their life. Grace was devoted to the Blessed Mother and prayed her rosary daily. She in addition, was strongly connected to her Bohemian roots, cooking sauerkraut and dumplings, methunky, and kolaches on a regular basis, as well as speaking the Bohemian Language, any chance she would have. Grace was known to have a very direct opinion and did not hold anything back. Perhaps appearing harsh to some, she held humorous undertones. She enjoyed God’s gifts in watching the daffodils and tulips awaken in Spring and was not afraid to get her hands dirty with yard work. She lived a full life. Survivors include her six daughters and one daughter in law, Gail (Ron) La Brec, Gay Mashl (Pete), Gloria (Kevin) Srenaski, Georgiana Hardy, Geni (Dennis) Villers, Gwen (Tom) Behnke, Bonnie Reedy (Lowell); seventeen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Kozlik; three sisters in law also survive. Grace was preceded in death by her husband; one son Gary Reedy; one grandson Taylor Hardy; one son in law Kevin Mashl; one brother Al (Edith) Kozlik; one sister Martha (Bernard) Pavlik; numerous brothers in law and sisters in law also have preceded her in death. As per Grace’s wishes, her funeral was privately held at St. Therese Parish, St. Joseph-St. John Site in Pilsen. Her body was laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pilsen.
