Hunter W. Roop

June 29, 1993 — February 7, 2024

Hunter Wyatt Roop a beloved husband, father, brother, and son, 30, of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Born on June 29, 1993, in Fall River, Massachusetts to Jeffrey W. and Linda L. (Overbeck) Roop. He grew up in Door County Wisconsin where he attended Sevastopol school and then went to Sturgeon Bay High School where he joined wrestling, football, and track, and was an active Eagle Scout, graduating with the class of 2011. On October 15, 2016, he and Victoria L. Schetter were wed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. Hunter dedicated his life to the outdoors and helping anyone in need. He was a kind and compassionate young man and had a smile that would light up the whole room. Hunter would spend hours on end tinkering in the garage and out hunting on the land. Hunter was a beloved husband to Victoria, a father to Savannah (6), Wilder (4), Willow (1) and brother to Briana Roop and Miranda Roop. He was preceded in death by grandparents Rosie Roop, Donald Roop and Debra (Stach) Overbeck; great-grandparents Mildred & Irving Gordon, Thea Jay & Fred Peterson, and Henry & Betty Overbeck; Uncle Joseph Roop; and dear friends Conor Iverson and Christopher Klein. Survivors include his wife Victoria and three daughters Savannah, Wilder and Willow, parents Jeffrey Roop and Linda Roop; Sisters Briana Roop and Miranda Roop; Aunts and Uncles Matthew Roop, Marelene (Roop) (Jim) Baumeister, Travis Overbeck (Godparent), Mindie Overbeck (Godparent), Guy Overbeck (Godfather), Jen Overbeck, Gina (Joe) Glennon, Billy (Emily) Kostka; grandparents William Overbeck, Carol (Gordon) & Richard Russell, Loretta (Roop) & Dan Herman; in-laws Lynn (Zeddies) & Rick Schetter; sister-in-law Katie Schetter; goddaughter Elaina. As well as many other relatives, cousins, and friends, further survive. Hunter's pride and joy were his three beautiful daughters, Savannah, Wilder & Willow. He enjoyed pulling them around on the tractor, jumping in the pool or playing outside. He loved watching them at their dance recitals, swimming lessons and taking them hunting and fishing. He could often be found outside in the hot tub with a whisky coke in hand blaring countryfolk music singing at the top of his lungs. His love for spending time in Upper Michigan (UP) and Crivitz with his daughters, wife, and dogs brought him immense joy in the short time he had here on Earth. In addition to his personal passions of hunting, fishing and woodworking, Hunter was passionate about being a stay-at-home dad and his bartending job at Northbrook in Luxemburg. He was also a member at St. John’s Lutheran Church and co-lead for Ruby’s Pantry. A funeral service to honor Hunter's life will be held at St, John Lutheran Church in Luxemburg, Wisconsin on Thursday February 15, 2024, at 12pm with visitation 9-11:45am. Hunter will be remembered as a kind-hearted and selfless individual who dedicated his life to his wife and daughters. His legacy will live on through them and his compassion for people will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. If you would like to express your sympathy, the family would like to request donations made in Hunter’s honor to the American Society for Suicide Prevention and support for this family to help pay for expenses and childcare, in lieu of flowers and other tributes.
