James L. Deterville

James “Jim” L. Deterville, 71 of Luxemburg passed away early Thursday morning, May 03, 2018 at a local hospital following a short illness. He was born in New Franken on September 05, 1946 to the late Ervin P. and Dolores M. (Dart) Deterville. Jim served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 in Luxemburg. He was a meat cutter with his Father at Deterville Custom Butchering, and later retired as a grounds keeper at Northbrook Country Club. His enjoyments included playing cards and drinking old fashions. Survivors include one sister in law, Eunice Deterville, Sugarbush; nieces and nephews, Mark (Rosie) Deterville, Amanda (Greg) Nimmer, Sherry Toms, Thomas (Rebecca) Deterville, Melinda (Dean) Enderby; several great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Reginald Deterville. Friends may call at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, Sugarbush on Monday, May 07, 2018 between 9:00 and 10:30 am. American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg, final salute at 10:35 am. Funeral 11:00 am on Monday at the church with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating. Full military rites follow the funeral Mass. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
