James J. “Jim” Jonet, Sr., 77, died Monday, September 4, 2023. He was born January 13, 1946, in Namur, WI to the late Peter and Lucy (Delfosse) Jonet. Jim was a graduate of Luxemburg High School, Class of 1964. Following graduation, he began working for FEECO and worked there for over 40 years. He began as a maintenance worker and retired in 2011 as a supervisor. Jim volunteered for many years for habitat for humanity, and built furniture, birdhouses, and anything that was needed for the Habitat Restore. A man of many skills and talents, he helped family and friends remodel their homes, was a role model and mentor to many people, and loved putting on his bib overalls to make maple syrup which he did for 40 years. On May 1, 1976, Jim married Gail Kuehl in Kewaunee. Together they enjoyed traveling all over the country, going to antique auctions, NASCAR races, and horse races. Family was very important to him, especially spending time and mentoring his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his seven children, Jim (Reenie) Jonet Jr., Tammy Hoffmann, Scott Jonet, Terry Spude, Jay (Rhonda) Spude, Dawn (fiancé Elvis) Spude, Jodi (Fred) Roubal; ten grandchildren, Brandon (Shanda) Nowak, Cody (Bobbie Jo) Nowak, Abigail (Cory) Delarwelle, Miranda (Lee) Truttmann, Travis (Amy) Spude, Elisha (Darren) Fager, Trever (Karli) Spude, Dawson Smith, Lukas Daus, Chase Daus; twelve great-grandchildren, Teegan, Payson, Aaliyah, Nolan, Miles, Bennett, Braxtin, Elliott, Chance (Jen), Chloe, Katie, and Bennett; a great-great grandchild, Xyla; one brother and two sisters, Tom Jonet, Jean (Brent) Alberts, and Terrie Flessert; a brother-in-law, Roger (Jean) Kuehl; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail; a sister, Joan Diedrich; a sister-in-law, Suzanne Jonet; and a niece, a nephew, and a great-niece. Friends and family may call at McMahon Funeral Home, 530 S. Main Street on Monday, September 11th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Brewer officiating.
