Julian J. Romuald Jr, 89, of Champion died Friday, October 21, 2022. He was born on March 23, 1933, in Champion to the late Julian J. Romuald Sr. and Annie (Loritz) Romuald. Julian was a graduate of Luxemburg High School in 1951. On June 11, 1955, he married Joan A. DeJardin at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Champion. Together they farmed for 56 years until Joan’s passing in 2012. He was most proud of growing and managing the family farm from the time he was 19 to his retirement at 65. His registered Holstein dairy herd and his involvement in various Holstein associations meant the world to him. In addition to farming, Julian was actively involved in his local school board starting first with Elm Grove School in the mid 1960’s through to the graduation of all his children from the Luxemburg-Casco School District. Julian served during the consolidation of the small rural schools and the building of a new primary school, holding several board offices throughout those years. In his retirement years, Julian fulfilled his lifelong dream to build a log cabin where he spent many happy hours. He also took to writing his life story, recalling many memories of life on the farm and his travels with Joan. He was proud of his Belgian heritage, traveling to Belgium several times. Julian spoke the Walloon language his entire life. Survivors include his six children, Fran (April) Romuald, GA, Donna (Steve) Bultman, Green Bay, Mike (Lori) Romuald, New Franken, Julie (Rick) LeFevre, Luxemburg, Bob (Mary) Romuald, Abrams, Dan (Michelle) Romuald, NC., six grandchildren, Anna (Euwayne) Bennett, Lizzy (Dayton) Dekam, Megan and Brad (Amy) Bultman, Claire (Jordan) LeFevre Mtezankuni, Loren LeFevre, three step-grandchildren, Erin (Joe) Stein, Shonda Pichette, Lindsey (Alex) Mertens, three great-grandchildren, Nora and Jay Bultman, Riley Dekam, five step-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Josie Stein, Noah, Madison and Jacob Mertens; four brothers in law and eight sisters in law, Denis (Bonnie) DeJardin, Amberg; Steve (Kathy) DeJardin, Sherwood; Betty (Roger) Schroeder, Green Bay; Judy Watzka, Green Bay; Sharon (Chuck) Bergner, Pulcifer; Mary Lorberblatt, Shawano; Paula DeJardin, Kewaunee; Judy DeJardin, Green Bay; nieces and nephews. Julian was preceded in death by, two brothers and two sisters in law, George (Eunice) Romuald, Alex (Eva) Romuald; four sisters and three brothers in law, Catherine (Clem) Vincent, Mayme (Richard) Renier, Dora (Elmer) Zellner, Mary Romuald; five brothers in law and two sisters in law, Donald DeJardin, Marvin and Marie DeJardin, Cletus DeJardin, Wayne DeJardin, Bernice and Herbert Duescher. Friends may call between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at St. Joseph Church, Champion. Funeral 11:00 am on Thursday, with Rev. William O'Brien officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Champion.
