Marianne Cecelia Greatens, 79, Luxemburg, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, October 24th, 2021, of an abdominal aortic aneurysm. She was born on September 8th,1942 to the late Joseph C. and Beatrice M. (Conard) Mathu. On October 10th, 1964, she married Harley W. Greatens in Sugarbush and together they raised four daughters. Harley preceded her in death on December 21, 2008. Marianne worked as a hairdresser for many years, she was the CEO of Greatens Oil Co, was employed with Harmann Studios and finally retired at Green Bay Packaging Co. Welcoming her into the kingdom of Heaven are: Harley Greatens, Joseph and Beatrice Mathu, Gerald Mathu, Elaine and Larry Wery, Jim Tlachac, Elmer and Alice Greatens, Karen and Harold Van Gothem, Sherry Heim, and Denise Greatens. She is survived by Carrie and Eric Abraham (Daniel), Carla and Rob Hackbarth (Jaden, Gabrielle, and William), Colleen and Brian Healy (Olivia, Sam, and Zeke), Connie Elbe (Dan Hackbarth and Olivia), and Myra Tlachac, Bernadine Mathu, Carl and Judy Mathu, Genial and Ellen Mathu, Linda and Dave Jadin, Paula and Paul Sinkula, Gale and Pat Greatens. “Cooker Grandma” as she was fondly called by her grandchildren, enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino, cooking and baking, spending time with her grandchildren, Friday night dinners with friends, attending mass, spending time with her siblings and weekends at the lake house. She cherished her time making caramel apples and helping out at Hillside Apples. She will be deeply missed by all, especially her dearest friend, Sharon Davister. Visitation will continue between 9:15 and 10:15 am on Friday, October 29, 2021 at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 10:30 am on Friday at the church with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating and Rev.
