Marie T Miller

February 14, 1924 — May 25, 2021

Marie T. Miller, 97, Luxemburg, peacefully ended her earthly existence on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 and was called into the presence of her Creator at helping Hearts Assisted Living in Luxemburg. She was born on February 14, 1924 to the late Clem and Louise (Jeanquart) Rass. After her 1941 graduation from Luxemburg High School, she worked commercially in Milwaukee before returning to Luxemburg and marrying her friend and neighbor James Miller on August 26, 1944 at St. Mary Church. She then became a full time mom to her four children and an occasional assistant to Dr. Emmet Dewane. As a person of faith, she served St. Mary Parish as a member of the Christian Mother Society, lector, and religious education teacher for many years. In the early 1970’s she and Jim were touched by the Spirit as they participated in the Charismatic Renewal Movement taking place in our diocese at the time; this experience taking them in a new direction on their journey of faith. Upon the death of her husband on December 9, 1999, after 55 years of marriage, she continued her participation in Daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration and became a friend and mentor to those whom she encountered, and as a result of the dedication she earned the affectionate title, “card lady” given to her by her children. Survivors include her children, Dcn Bob (Linda) Miller, New Franken; Wendy (Dale) Lais, MN; Julie (Dave) Dalebroux, Luxemburg; Sue (Paul) Barrett, IL; ten grandchildren, Steve (Jessica) Miller, Jeffrey (Kimberlee) Miller, Jennifer Lais, Vincent (Brenna Carlson) Lais, Chad (Michelle Fields) Eslinger, Anne (Bill) Hopkins, Michael (Alex) Baierl, Paul (Aftin) Baierl, Drew Barrett, Matthew Barrett; three step grandchildren, Jason (Deb) Dalebroux, Jenny (friend, Scott Campbell) Kramer, Jolene (Luke) Chevalier; 17 great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren; brothers, Clem Rass, Menasha; Jim (Alice) Rass, Mosinee; one sister, Laverne Happel, Brookfield; nieces and nephews.
