Marvin P. Jonet, 95, New Franken, died peacefully with his children by his side on Sunday morning, May 1, 2022. He was born March 21, 1927, in the township of Red River to the late, Louis and Irene (Rogers) Jonet. On November 29, 1947, he married Caroline E. Nellis at Saint Joseph Church in Champion. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2015. Marvin served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was member of the Plumber and Steamfitter Local Union 400, receiving an award for 65 years of service. He loved spending time at the cabin in Pembine, fishing, hunting, and cutting lumber at his “Hardly Able Lumber Company”. Together, Marvin and Caroline enjoyed traveling the country, especially to Arizona and Alaska, in their motor home. Marvin loved to spend time with his family, especially his many grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Marvin is survived by his children, Len (Jan) Jonet, Green Bay; Jerry (Donna) Jonet, New Franken; Diane (Doug) DuBois, Green Bay; Kristy (Herb) Myers, Mountain; Jean (Robert) Baranczyk, Sturgeon Bay; 14 grandchildren, Tami (Rick) Process, Kimberly (Mike) Powers, Melissa Opicka-Jonet, Philip Jonet, Brent (Katie) DuBois, Amanda (Nate) Thomas, Trevor (Misty) Pedersen, Amber (Chris) Hellmann, Cassandra (fiancé Josh) Gaestel, Alecia (Matt) Daul, Jake (fiancé Brittni) Baranczyk, Ben (fiancé Carly) Baranczyk, Abby (Dylan) Frea; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Vernelda Vaness, DePere; Rosella VandenHouten, Lincoln; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Caroline; one daughter, Debbie Gaestel; one granddaughter, Jenna Baranczyk; one brother, Wilfred (Virgil) Jonet; sisters in law and brothers in law, Odile (Walter) Ducat, Evelyn (Edwin) Legois, Donald Nellis, Wilfred VandenHouten and Alvin Vaness. Friends may call between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Holy Cross Church in Bay Settlement. Funeral 11:00 am on Monday at the church with Abbot Gary Neville, O.Praem. officiating.
