Mary Ann Zellner, 76, Luxemburg, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, February 6, 2022, at her home. She was born on May 4, 1945, in the town of Humboldt to the late Arthur J. and Florence J. (Jadin) VandenPlas. On September 7, 1963, she married Dennis J. Zellner, at St. Hubert Church, Sugarbush. Mary Ann and Dennis took over the Zellner family farm in 1964. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family. Her happiest days on the farm were spent operating the hay swatter and driving tractor. She and Dennis were proud to receive the Kewaunee County Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 1977. She and Dennis enjoyed bowling at the Rendezvous where she served as league secretary for many years. She was a member of the St. Mary Christian Mothers Society, Luxemburg. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dennis, their four children, Annette (Jerry) Shefchik, Sherri (Rob) Alexander, Rodney (Sandi) Zellner, Louie (Lori) Zellner; seven grandchildren, Eric (Kara) Zehren, Adam (Marissa) Zehren, Cory (Taylor) Romdenne, Mariah (special friend Travis Engels) Romdenne, Brady (special friend Shelby Fields) Zellner, Ethan (special friend Brooklyn Derricks) Zellner, Kyle (Karissa) Buresh; seven great grandchildren Cayden, Colton, Callie, Henley, Kendall, Audrey, Layla; six step-grandchildren Angie (Kory) Paplham, Jess (Bryan) Bertsche, Brandon (Danielle) Alexander, Aaron (Ben) Alexander-Wolf, Mariah (Travis) Thiry, Jake Alexander; twelve step great-grandchildren Haley, Breleigh, Kinslie, Ethan, Isaac, Lilie, Carter, Easton, Chase, Braelynn, Cashden, Jesse; one brother and two sisters- in-law, Hubert (Doris) VandenPlas, Doloris VandenPlas; one sister and one brother-in-law, Marlene (Richard) Dorner, four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Bev Zellner, Kathi VanDenPlas, Mary (Jim) Salentine, Lyle (Marci) Zellner; six godchildren, Diane Schlies, Jamie VandenPlas, Tony Dorner, Lynn Curry, Nathan VanDenPlas, Todd Zellner, and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bernard VandenPlas, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alois and Marie Zellner; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Ron Zellner, Janice and Joe Etienne, Myron VanDenPlas. Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, Luxemburg, on Thursday, February 10, 2022, between 3:00 and 7:00 PM. Closing parish prayer service at 7:00 PM with Deacon Bob Miller. Visitation continues Friday, February 11, 2022, between 9:30 and 10:45 AM at the church. Funeral 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg, with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating.
