Mayme R Ledvina

August 24, 1920 — April 11, 2018

Mayme Ledvina, 97, of Pilsen, died Wednesday evening, April 11, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1920 in the Town of Franklin to the late John J. and Mary (Naidl) Stodola and was baptized Mary Rose Stodola, however she always used Mayme as her first name. On October 15, 1940 she married Norbert B. Ledvina at St. Lawrence Church, Stangleville. He preceded her in death February 09, 2007. Norbert and Mayme raised five children while running a successful Centennial dairy farm in the Pilsen area until their retirement in 1981. They loved to travel all over the United States and beyond. They would often get into their car and begin a new adventure! They hold many memories of time spent with their many cherished friends. Mayme was a member of the Woodside Golf League, Daughters of Isabella, the Homemakers Club and the Rosary Society of St. Therese Parish, where she was an active member. The love of Mayme’s life was her husband, Norbert, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Mayme cherished many family gatherings and time spent with her family whom she referred to as her “jewels”. Survivors include her children, John (Kathy) Ledvina, AZ; Sandra (Robert, PHD) Mendelsohn, Green Bay; Marilyn (Tomlin, MD) Rosi, MI; Joseph (Denise) Ledvina, NJ; Donna Ledvina, TX; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous special nieces and nephews. Mayme was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert; one son, David N. Ledvina (2003); her mother in law and father in law, Katherine and Joseph Ledvina; two brothers, Frank and Norene Kabat; Joseph and Verna Stodola; two sisters, Anna and Charles Oswald; Emily and Edward Ledvina; brothers in law and sisters in law, Charles Ledvina; Louis and Virginia Ledvina; Julia and George Dorner; Leonard and Gloria Ledvina. Friends may call at McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMBURG 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Closing prayer service at 7:00 pm on Thursday with Christal Wavrunek, Pastoral Minister. Visitation will continue between 10:00 and 10:45 am on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Therese Parish, St. Joseph-St. John Site, Pilsen. Funeral 11:00 am on Friday at the church with Rev. Dennis Drury officiating. Mayme will be sadly missed by her family and each of our lives are not as bright since she left us, but we know she will be amongst the brightest stars in the sky!
