Merle K. Peot, 93, Luxemburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She was born on March 1, 1929, in Scarboro to the late Adolph C. & Emerence M. (Younk) Novak. On June 1, 1949, she married Kenneth J. Peot Sr. at Holy Trinity Church in Casco. Together they worked on the family farm with Merle also working for Schreiber Cheese for twenty six years. Kenneth preceded her in death on February 18, 1992. Merle was active member of St. Mary Church, helping with the script program, the Christian Mother Society and was very proud to be a Eucharistic Minister for many years. Survivors include her children, Glenn Peot, Lee Peot (Esther Gillis), Patty (Mike) Raisleger, Greg (Sandy) Peot; ten grandchildren that she loved very much include, Amanda (Tom) Shefchik, Brian (Cindy) Peot, Andrew (Kari) Peot, Alex (Nikki) Raisleger, Jackie (Dale) Peters, Ashley (Andy) Cornette, Jessica (Eric) Jahnke, Kaitlyn (Kris) Dubois, Kenny Peot, & Kim Peot; fourteen great grandchildren include, Julia, Jacob, Jonah, Evelyn, Stanley, Cecelia, Stella, Aubrey, Emery, Liam, Miles, Memphis, Joey and Zeke; three sisters, Jean Kollross, Bonnie (Jerry) Marcelle, Nancy (Dave) Mueller; one sister-in-law, Joan Lardo; special friend, Connie Peot; many nieces and nephews. Merle is preceded in death by her husband, who she has missed for thirty plus years, Kenneth J. Peot Sr; her son, Kenneth “Butch” J. Peot Jr; her grandson, Scott Peot; her daughter-in-law Mary Peot; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph & Hattie Peot; one sister, Shirley & (Roy) Rueckl; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald (Helen) Peot, Betty (Edward “Eddie”) Ripp, Donald “Doc” Kollross and Robert “Bob” Lardo. Friends may call 3:30 to 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Closing Vigil Service with Rev. Daniel Schuster at 6:30 pm on Thursday. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Friday, July 8, 2022, at St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. Funeral at 11:00 am on Friday at the church with Rev. Mark Mleziva officiating and Deacon Robert Miller assisting. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg.
