Myra M. (Mathu) Tlachac, 88, Luxemburg, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. She was born June 19, 1934, in Sugarbush to the late Joseph C. and Beatrice M. (Conard) Mathu. She graduated from Luxemburg High School in 1953. On August 28, 1954, she married James (Jim) V. Tlachac at St. Hubert Church in Sugarbush. Together they adopted and raised three children. Later they purchased and ran Jim’s 54 Cafe. Throughout her life, Myra enjoyed attending high school sporting events; first for her siblings, then her children, and finally her grandchildren. Her other passion was travel. Myra saw much of the United States and traveled to Europe numerous times, embracing her Belgian heritage. Survivors include her three children, Daniel (Kelly) Tlachac, Houston, TX; Anne (Fran) VandenMeerendonk, Cocoa, FL; David (Tammy) Tlachac, Algoma; five grandchildren, Sean Tlachac, Paige & Abby VandenMeerendonk, and Jordan (Brady) & Grace Tlachac; two brothers Carl (Judy) Mathu, Green Bay; Genial (Ellen) Mathu, Luxemburg; one sister Linda Jadin, Luxemburg; brothers-in-law Paul Sinkula, Ken (Julaine) Tlachac, Alan (Donna) Tlachac, all of Luxemburg; and sisters-in-law Bernadine Mathu, Veronica Bouche, Rose (Roger) Beirl, Marge Tlachac, all of Luxemburg; and many nieces and nephews. Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; one brother, Gerald Mathu; three sisters, Elaine Wery, Marianne Greatens, and Paula Sinkula; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Jennie Tlachac; six brothers-in-law, Larry Wery, Harley Greatens, Dave Jadin, Ed Tlachac, Hamlin Boucher, John Buhr; and one sister-in-law, Gen Buhr. Friends may call between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 11:00 am on Saturday at the church with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg.
