Nancy A. Fenendael

Nancy A. Fenendael, 82, of Algoma (Rio Creek), passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, June 18, 2022, following a year and half battle with Leukemia. She was born on April 27, 1940, in the Town of Lincoln to the late Elmer and Emeline (Havel) Gigot. Nancy graduated from Casco High School in 1958. After graduation, Nancy worked at Fort Howard until 1962. On September 30, 1961, she married Elias “Eli” Fenendael at St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln. Together they raised their six children. Nancy and Eli spent six decades devoting their lives to faith, family, and farming. Their legacy continues to live on as El-Na Farms. After retiring, Nancy could still be found feeding calves, making lunches, and completing bookwork for the farm. In her spare time, she helped prepare food at Village Kitchen and S&K’s Food and Spirits. She also worked at the Lincoln Townhall during elections and volunteered her time at St. Peter Catholic Church by helping prepare meals for funerals. Nancy enjoyed cooking, reading, and working in her gardens. Together they enjoyed many vacations through Care-Free Travel, along with going out to eat and playing cards with their friends. They cherished watching their children and grandchildren’s many events. She is best known by her grandchildren for her famous sugar toast, her chili, and having the ability to make a cardboard box taste good! She was known by her grandchildren as “Grandma Calfie” and “Grandma-on-the-Farm”. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Eli, and their six children, Barry (Linda) Fenendael, Lori (Butch) Tebon, Sue (Dave) Baudhuin, Cheryl (Jon) Cravillion, Lonnie (Sue) Fenendael, Shane (Jennie) Fenendael; fifteen grandchildren, Quin Fenendael; Mariah and Lance Tebon; Tyler (Cassidy), Jon, Bailey (Travis Mueller), and Nick Baudhuin; Kimberly (Brian) Dolski, Taylor and Jacob Cravillion; Samantha (Colt) Gille, Faith and Kurtis Fenendael; Rylee and Jordan Fenendael; seven great-grandchildren with another arriving in September. Her siblings, Karen VanBoxel, Green Bay; Randy Gigot, New Franken; her sisters in-law, Jeanette Fenendael, Algoma; Barb Gigot, Algoma; Vonnie Gigot, Green Bay; Godchildren, Peggy Holtz, Lisa Passamoni, and Scott Fenendael; many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Milton Gigot; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Goldie and Catherine Fenendael; two brothers in-law, Bernie VanBoxel and Algie Fenendael; two sisters in-law, Mary Jo Gigot and Shirley Gigot. Friends may call 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 24, 2022, at McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg. Closing parish prayer service 7:00 pm on Friday. Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at St. Peter Church, Lincoln. Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Edward Looney officiating.
