Nikolai Antonovich Oshkolup, left this earth the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at the home of his daughter in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. He was born on August 31, 1927, to the late Anton and Natalia Oshkolup in Vinnytsia, Oblast, Ukraine. He served in the Russian Military during WWII. Nikolai being a Christian, was able to move to the United States, settling in Oregon with his wife and family as a US citizen. His wife preceded him in death. Nikolai’s family appreciated the climate in Wisconsin, reminding them of the Ukraine, they relocated in DePere, Wisconsin, later settling in Luxemburg. Nikolai in his 90’s, joined his daughter at her home, where he died surrounded by family at the age of 92. His private Russian funeral was held at McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg, to honor his language and culture. His body was laid to rest in St. Mary Cemetery in Luxemburg.
