Norbert E. La Crosse, age 96, Luxemburg, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Norbert was born July 27, 1926, in Rosiere, to the late Alphonse and Rose M. (De Villers) La Crosse. He graduated from Casco High School in 1944. He was employed at U.S. Plywood later known as The Algoma Hardwoods for 44 years, retiring in 1990. He also farmed in the Rosiere area on the family farm until 1973. On September 5, 1945, he married Marie L. Buhr at St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1988. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, son John, parents, brothers; Joseph (Mabel) La Crosse, Clifford La Crosse; his sisters Dorothy (Harvey) DeGuelle, Rosabelle (Gilbert) Borlee, brothers in law, John (Geraldine) Buhr, Edward (Lillian) Buhr, Donald Buhr; sisters in law, Kathleen (Norbert) Vandertie, Alice (Harland) Gerondale along with his grandson, Dean Herlache; granddaughters, Shelly Herlache and Leslie Bielawski and great granddaughter Brooke McDermid. He is survived by his children, Joanne (Al) Zastrow, Larry (Elly) La Crosse, Sue (Bruce) Clark, Mary (Todd) Wessel; grandchildren, Jim (Rachel) Herlache, Tim (Jane) La Crosse, Jeff (Tracy) La Crosse, Benji (Carrie Stec) La Crosse, Missy (Brian) Berg, Gail (Larry) Mahnke, Nichole (Eric) Burhop, Ryan (Sadie) Wessel, Ashley (Kyle) Ploor, Eric Bielawski; twenty great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and his special friend, Shirley Vandertie. He loved to travel and has been to Europe, the Hawaiian Islands, Fairbank Alaska, and several other states within the U.S. He loved to dance and was a member of the Happy Hoppers Club. Visitation will be held Saturday September 17, 2022, from 8:30 to 10:45 am. at St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating.
