Richard "Bud" D. Schauer

July 29, 1937 — March 9, 2024

Richard “Bud” Delbert Schauer, 86, Casco, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday March 9, 2024. He was born in Green Bay on July 29, 1937, to the late Clarence N. and Genevieve M. (Simon) Schauer. As a boy he was mischievous but very intelligent. He attended Central Catholic High School where his interest in photography grew. Following graduation he attended St. Norbert College in DePere, later becoming a teacher and counselor. Bud taught in several cities including Philadelphia and Chicago, ending up in Green Bay teaching several subjects including German and Photography at Premontre High School. After teaching, he pursued a career in photography, specializing in weddings. During that time, he also worked at Pierquet’s Tv and Appliance Store, where he met his first love and future wife, Barbara A. Kolar. His dream of owning a home came true in 1984, purchasing an old farmhouse to renovate. On September 17, 1988, Bud and Barb were married in the beautiful yard of his sister and brother in law, Janet and Glenn Francken. He loved his sailing time on De-ja vu, Glenn and Janet’s sailboat. During a sailing adventure with Barb and his best friend Dan Kaye and his family, Bud parallel parked a thirty-five-foot sailboat. Truly amazing! Bud continued renovating his home and photographing weddings until his health started to offer challenges. Survivors include his loving wife, Barb; three sisters Lois (Jack) Freix, Janet Francken, Mary Callahan; two stepchildren Jackie (Dan) Kraemer, Michael Kolar; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren (plus one on the way); special niece Erin Callahan and many other nieces, nephews along with his loving dog Sadey. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; one stepdaughter Sharyl Slack; two brothers in law Glenn Francken, Michael Callahan; special friend Dan Kaye; two nephews Kevin Francken, Patrick Callahan. As per Bud’s wishes no funeral service will be held. McMahon Funeral Home in Luxemburg is assisting the Schauer Family. www.mcmahonfh.com “Sail On My Love, take lots of pictures.” Barb.
