Rita A. Moens

Rita Ann Moens, 83, Luxemburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born in Luxemburg, Wisconsin on January 28, 1942, to Martin and Laura (Vincent) Theys. Rita worked and retired from Tape Inc. and was a member of the Algoma Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Rita enjoyed life filled with her family and friends. She loved driving her motorcycle, especially when touring numerous states throughout the U.S. She was an avid deer hunter with bow and gun. She also enjoyed fishing, bowling, going up north and knitting blankets for her family. Rita especially loved spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her five children: Paul (Lynn) Moens, Linda Haskins (s/o Brad Daul), Laura Champeau, Pam (Jim) Andrews, Diane (Jim) Hoslet; grandchildren, Michael (Shell) Moens, Matthew (Liz) Moens, Danielle (Ben) Hettmann-Hylok, Jeremy Schumacher, Samantha Champeau, Jennifer (Brad) Detampel, Jacob Hoslet (s/o Cayci Diedrich); great-grandchildren, Cordelia, Mirabelle, Nolan, Bodhi, Brooks and Millie; Rita is further survived by sisters, Rose (Ronnie) Ropson, Lucy Greening, Cathy (Jack) Jacobs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Laura Theys; and sister and brother-in-law Verna (Glen) Hallet.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg. A closing prayer service will follow at 4:00 pm with Pat Ratajczak, at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brian and Terri Guilette for their years of love, friendship and support given to Rita. We would also like to express our gratitude to the caregivers at The Courtyard at Bellevue Memory Care and Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice for their warm compassion shown to mom.
