Robert P. Jossart

April 6, 1940 — January 25, 2023

On Wednesday morning, January 25, 2023, Robert “Bob” P. Jossart, 82, of Luxemburg, passed away peacefully at Autumn’s Promise Assisted Living in Green Bay. Bob was born in Sugarbush, on April 6, 1940, to the late Louis J. and Eleanor E. (Radart) Jossart. Bob attended Luxemburg High School, graduating with the class of 1958. On May 22, 1965, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn J. Zellner, at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Bob and Marilyn had three beautiful children over the next seventeen years. Bob spent most of his career at Green Bay Builders Supply, working there for more than forty years and hitting many sales records along the way. He was also a licensed building inspector for twenty years. Bob was extremely involved in the local community, serving on the Village of Luxemburg Planning Commission and a member of the St. Mary Parish Board. In addition, Bob helped expand the village by starting his own subdivision in Luxemburg. Bob was an excellent athlete, posting an outstanding 34-5-3 record as a wrestler his senior year of high school. He also placed 3rd at State! In what some might consider to be a tall tale, while in his 20’s Bob once wrestled a 300 lb. bear at the Kewaunee County Fair! Bob was born to play softball and his extreme passion for the sport could be seen when he was on the mound. Throughout forty years of playing AAA Fastpitch softball at a highly competitive level, Bob pitched numerous no-hitters. This tremendous love for the game and for his grandchildren was evident as he cheered for them when they participated in softball and baseball. Rarely slowing down in his free time, Bob went to the YMCA for many years and greatly enjoyed meeting new friends and spending a significant amount of time swimming and lifting weights. He cherished his experiences through the years at the Friday night races at the fairgrounds and the quality time he spent with his son, Jeff, including trips to the races in Marshalltown and Boone, IA. Bob was a very skilled woodworker, spending considerable time perfecting his craft in his woodshop and making quality tables and other items for family and friends. Many of his woodworking projects remain in his children’s homes to this day and will continue to be a reminder of Bob’s skill and workmanship for many years to come. Bob truly enjoyed the great outdoors simply riding his lawn tractor, as well as listening to some great polka music and appreciating the occasional cigar. Bob is survived by his loving daughters, Kelly (Scott) Bonfigt, De Pere; Kristen (Tony) Heurkens, Luxemburg; one proud son, Jeff (Katie) Jossart, Luxemburg; eight grandchildren, Derek and Devin Weber, Alissa, Ava, Alayna and Brady Heurkens, Nathan and Katelyn Bonfigt; three brothers, Bernard, Herbert, and Donald (Kathy) Jossart; five sisters, Carol Jansen, Katherine (Dave) Perret, Pat (Ken) Delcore, Donna Gruner, and Karen (Lance) Solus; surviving in-laws, Lucille Jossart, Aurelia Dalebroux, James Zellner, Don (Rita) Zellner; many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his best friend, and wife Marilyn Jossart; two brothers, Louis Jossart, Kenneth Jossart; one sister, Rosemary (George) Warden; five sisters-in-law: Jean Jossart, Judy Jossart, Archie (Beulah) Zellner, Rosella Zellner and Doloris (Alfred “Smitty”) Worachek; four brothers-in-law, Don Jansen, Arthur Gruner, Archie Zellner and Gerald Dalebroux; parents Louis J. and Eleanor E. Jossart; father-in-law and mother-in-law William N. and Katherine M. (Vandenbush) Zellner. Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, 2023. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Bob’s name. Dad, we love you and we all will miss you so much. Thank you for all you have provided for us. You were our protector. You have shown us strength and instilled in us a strong work ethic that we will pass on to our children.
