Roger Francis Wautlet, 80, of Luxemburg died peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 4, 1942, to the late Bertha and Harold Wautlet. He married Shirley Monfils on July 4, 1964, at St Mary Church in Algoma and they enjoyed 37 years together. After high school, Roger joined the United States Air Force and faithfully served for 20 years, including serving in the Vietnam War. During his years of services, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, numerous campaign and service medals. Following his military career, Roger worked for Kewaunee County Services and was honored to serve as the Kewaunee County Veterans Officer. While in this position, he was privileged to assist fellow veterans with obtaining VA benefits and implemented veteran day services at many schools in Kewaunee County. Following his retirement, he served as Commander for the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 Luxemburg, Wisconsin and enjoyed being a snowbird residing in Texas for many years. He remained a member of the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 of Luxemburg and the Kewaunee VFW Post 3293, and was a member of St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. Survivors include his three daughters, Wanda (Thomas) Piotrowski, Green Bay; Donna (Robert) Loritz, New Franken; Tonya (John) Burda; Luxemburg; loving companion Patricia Staszak; and her children Teresa (Dean) Simonar and Mark Staszak, eight grandchildren, Jackie (Chad) Krueger; Carrie (Paul) White, Caitlin and Nathan Piotrowski; Megan (Matt) Kolonich, Amiee (special friend Layton) Loritz; Justin Burda, Bryce and Brooklyn Christoph; great grandchild Levi White; one sister Janet Jandrin; one brother Allen Wautlet; four sisters-in law Sharon (Pete) Bader; Joyce (Lloyd) Heim; Jayne (Glen) Gaszak; Jane (Scott) Van Lanen. In addition to his parents, Roger was proceeded in death by his wife Shirley, three brothers-in-law Roger Jandrin, Charles Monfils, Donald Monfils; special aunt and uncle, Robert and Martha Vandervest. Friends may call between NOON and 2:40 pm on Friday, November 11, 2022, at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral 3:00 pm on Friday at the church with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating.
