Sally A. Jacobs

Sally Ann (Thyes) Jacobs, 83 passed away peacefully at Cherry Cove Assisted Living, Sturgeon Bay on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was born August 7, 1940, to the late Fred “Fritz” and Marie (Smits) Thyes in Green Bay. Sally grew up and lived most of her life in New Franken. On May 28, 1960, she married James (Jim) Jacobs, who preceded her in death in 2005. Sally sold AVON for many years and also worked for Copp’s Food Center and retired from Oneida Bingo & Casino. She enjoyed visiting the casino, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter Susan (Daniel) Neuzil, Algoma and her grandchildren Mason, Kennedy and Cayden. She is further survived by her sister and brother in law Shirley (Jim) Daoust; her in laws Kenneth (Maggie) Jacobs, John (Cathy) Jacobs, Carol Jacobs, Marjorie Everard, Marion (Andy) Leiterman and Rosemary Jacobs along with many nieces and nephews. Sally is proceeded in death by her husband Jim, her siblings James (Lois) Thyes, Doris (Jack) Tilkens and Fred (Marilyn)Thyes. Her in-laws Donald (Shirley) Jacobs, Richard “Dick” Jacobs, Betty Jane (Tony) Jonet, Lester Everard and Vera Thyes. Friends may call at the McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg, between 4:00 and 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 30, 2024. Closing funeral service 7:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Christopher Jackson officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bay Settlement. The family would like to thank the staff at Cherry Cove and Unity Hospice for the care and compassion given to Sally over the last several months. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
