Stella M. Jerovetz Stella passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 with her family at her side. She was born in the Town of Eaton on March 11, 1927, to the late Stanley and Jennie (Piontek) Mincheski. On September 27, 1947 she married Clarence Jerovetz at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Eaton, Wi. Clarence preceded her in death June 11, 2009. They enjoyed 62 years of married life while raising their family. Her children helped her run the farm while Clarence was unloading ships in the Green Bay harbor. They farmed the family farm until retiring in 1991. They then began traveling to New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Texas and Florida with friends. Stella loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren by visiting on birthdays, babysitting, sewing and crocheting items for them. She taught them how to make kolaches, her great peanut squares and her stuffing. She attended sports events, concerts and musicals to support them. Stella was one the founding leaders of the Pilsen Skylighters 4-H Club. She was a general and sewing leader for over 25 years. She also helped the judges at the County Fair and was a chaperone to the 4-H delegation from Kewaunee to Washington DC. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. She attended daily and Sunday Mass at St. Joseph Church in Pilsen as long as she could. She gave over 40 years of service to the church where she volunteered to sew, launder the alter linens and purificators as well as setting up the altar for Mass. As part of the Worship Committee, she decorated the church for all holidays. She taught CCD at St. Joseph Church for the children getting ready to make their 1st Communion. She was President of the St. Joseph Rosary Society for many years taking care of funerals and the church card parties. She also was the Treasurer of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women of Kewaunee County. Stella helped with the painting and varnishing at the St. Therese Parish office in Stangelville as well as the painting of Father Mike Ingold’s house in Pilsen. Sewing was one of Stella’s strong points. She helped sew costumes for the Luxemburg-Casco Preforming Arts musicals and variety shows. She also sewed alter cloths, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and curtains for others. She loved to crochet afghans for family and for prizes for the Time and Talent raffle at her church. Clarence and Stella loved to dance every chance they had. The polka was a favorite, dancing over the decades, often located on the dance floor at their children's and even their grandchildren's weddings. They even took 1st place, dancing with various dance groups. Stella loved to bake her kolaches and peanut squares for family, the Rosary Society bake sale, funerals and the retired Priest get togethers. Family gatherings were important to her, creating large dinners at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, for the family. Summer was the time when she took care of the flowers and garden. She taught her daughter how to can items from the garden. Stella taught us all how to love, support one another, and be a role model to the family.
