Verna Mae Frisque, 95, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born in Luxemburg Township, June 17, 1926, to the late Edwin J. and Renee M. (Vandevelde) VandenHouten. She attended Lowell Graded School. She married Elmer J. Frisque at St. Martin Church in Tonet on November 17, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2018, just short of 75 years of marriage. Verna was employed with Green Bay Canning Co. and then Parkview Nursing Home for thirty-five plus years. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish, cleaning the church weekly. She volunteered at the Brown County Mental Health Center and was involved with the Homemakers Club and TOPS. Verna loved to watch the Polka-Polka show, playing cards- cuyoo, five hundred rummy and thirty-one, and spoiling her grand dogs, CJ, Quintal, Hazel, Frieda, Lucy and Tiny. Survivors include her five children, Julie (Robert) Steiner, Luxemburg; John (Rita) Frisque, Bay Settlement; Randy (Jane) Frisque, Luxemburg; Rhonda Frisque, Gerilyn Frisque, both of Green Bay; grandchildren, Janelle (Cory) Tekulve, Roderic “Butch” (Tracy) Steiner, Lisa Blake, Brian (Betsy) Frisque, Shelly Frisque, Rachelle (Rick) Karman, Rachael Bray, Madilyn DuBois, Jim Doell; great-grandchildren, Kurtis, Shawn, Carynn, Cienna, Jayde, Megan, Bryce, Alex, Aaron, Tanner, Austin and Brianna; great-great-grandson, Bowie; sister in law, Iris Pinchart; brother in law, Miles Haucke; nieces and nephews. Verna was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Robin Doell; one grandson, Lucas J. Frisque; one grandson in law, Douglas Blake; one sister, Bertha (Elmer) Delveaux; one brother, Bernard (Janice Haucke) VandenHouten; brothers in law and sisters in law, Carrell (Renie) Frisque, Marvin (Jean) Frisque, Beatrice (Linus) Hermans, Germaine (Clarence) Zellner. Friends may call 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.
