Verne L. Depas

Verne L. DePas, 89, Luxemburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2022. He was born in Green Bay on June 22, 1933, to the late Lawrence A and Myrtle A. (DeChamps) DePas. He graduated from Casco High School, and then married the love of his life, Nancy A. Wallace, on May 29, 1954. He was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Mary Church of Luxemburg. Verne was a lifelong dairy farmer and hosted many twilight meetings, June Dairy month breakfasts, and farm tours to Cub Scouts, school children, and retired Fort Howard employees. He retired from farming in the early 1990s so he and Nancy could go traveling. Verne was a member of the Casco Lions Club, President of Manitowoc Milk Producers Co-Op, and a master gardener. He enjoyed square dancing, golfing, bowling, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Verne’s life revolved around his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Verne is survived by his five children: Daniel (Beverly) DePas Sr., Michael DePas, Catherine (Larry) Seipel, Richard DePas, and John DePas. His grandchildren: Daniel Jr., Christopher, Melanie, Ashley, Robert, Nicole, Laura, Stephanie, Brandon, Patricia, and Theresa. Eighteen great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, one brother, Erwin (Gloria) DePas; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, and one sister-in-law, Sister Rachel “Patricia” Wallace. Friends may call between 9:15 and 10:45 am on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg. Funeral at 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating. He will be deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. We love you!
